General Information
|
Surrounded
by ancient trees and gravity-defying terraced gardens, this
unique haven nestles on a dramatic hillside overlooking
the Ayung river gorge.
Perched
adjacent to steep rice terraces looking out to a temple
on the opposite hill, this breathtaking property's individual
Villas are all constructed in contemporary Balinese style
with thatched alang-alang roofs and private plunge pools.
A
private funicular permits easy access to the Villas, the
restaurants, bars, boutique and library. The vast elliptical
infinity pool emphasizes the natural curves of the hillside,
and the Spa, set close by the Ayung river, shares the beauty
of the view and the sounds of nature where guests indulge
in exotic treatments.
The
garden, conceived by the landscape architect William Warren
(author of Balinese Garden) together with John Pettigrew,
is unique. Nature becomes a spectacle here, with exotic
trees and essences of the tropics - cocoa, coffee, durian,
rambutan, lychees, a variety of tropical bamboos, flame
trees, bird of paradise flowers and orchids...
Rooms
The
villas are set high on wooden pillars with king-sized four-poster
beds, indoor baths, outdoor showers and dramatic individual
plunge pools with adjoining Bales. There are 30 deluxe Pool
Villas (approx 100 sqm)
- 2 deluxe Suite Pool Villas (approx 160sqm)
- 6 two-bedroom Family Pool Villas (approx 160m2)
(including the room, deck, pool, bale and bathroom.)

the valley, a dense curtain of tropical vegetation surrounding
a temple and looming over the Ayung river gorge.
Diatas

river, and offers an excellent setting for a relaxing long
drink at sunset be this a freshly squeezed fruit

Clinging
to the riverbank, where the rocks make the water sing, and consumed
by tropical foliage kissed by morning mists, the Ayung Spa rekindles
distant memories of Paradise Lost. Awaken your senses with the
heady scents of flowers and spices, and abandon your body to the
secular secrets of Balinese well-being.
In
pure Balinese style, the Ayung Spa offers three luxurious pavilions
dedicated to relaxation and well-being. Each pavilion comprises
two large spaces: one with two massage beds and a Balinese sofa,
the other with a dressing area and bathroom with a bath that,
surrounded by water, looks out onto the river. The interior and
exterior are intimately married to nature, thanks to the use of
local materials and the manner in which the pavilions open out
onto the omnipresent vegetation. The fa?ade, without walls, allows
guests to enjoy the majesty of the views whilst retaining their
privacy.
The
pavilions are linked to each other by Japanese steps surrounded
by water and climbing plants clinging to the neighbouring wall,
promoting a sensation of fertility.
